2023 Unwrapped unpacking

Another one of those end of year wraps like Spotify telling me I listened to early 90s rave and 00s pop and didn't listen to any of their podcasts despite them spending 100s of millions trying to corner the market. But then neither did anyone else listen bar Joe Rogans thing. 

People sharing stuff from people who I blocked years ago like wizarding Karen,  punchable ex tabloid editors and priest sitcom co creator's from hate networks/  channels supporting their business models however inadvertently needs to stop. The latter whose book received the sort of publicity more deserving works could only dream about had pitiful sales and it seems anyone to do with said priest sitcom looks to have distanced themselves like the other co creator, production company and surviving collaborators.  

Mental health wise, i got a therapist and it's been good but yeah there's a lot to uunpac that I'll save for later date.

Not A Long

Sleepy so not a long entry. Job interview wore me out, more the performance anxiety than anything else. There's the awaited or dreaded depending on your view school guidance for transgender children, I think you'll know which side I'll take anyway so I'll save my energy for another day.

Ballet Flats

The ballet flat shoes are back is the claim in my inbox. I, admittedly not with the biggest finger on the pulse, wasn't aware it had gone away. They're an essential part of any shoe collection, lightweight to carry and handy when your strappy heals disintstrappy. My flats range from the simple black towards the sparkling silver.  Further news arrives telling me ballet flats are spreading to men or rather returning as any study of renaissance paintings would tell. Apparently this is partly thanks to pop star and bit of a hottie Harry Styles, who could wear tissue boxes on his feet and look cool. How serious this is time will tell, at least ìts not manned up in a terrible guyliner esc branding. 

Swing Your Pants At The Camera

When doing a interview remotely you always come across advice like, dress fully instead of just your top part, like you would if you were there face to face.

Which is clearly nonsense unless you are planning to stand up and swing your pants at the camera. Just wear what is comfortable down below or whatever you like smart trousers, budgie smugglers or in my case your favorite pencil skirt and comfy slippers.

Pansexual Pride Day

December 8 is Pansexual Pride Day, frequently misunderstood and misrepresented today was all about raising awareness and celebrating all those brilliant panies out there.

We* don't expect perfection it is hard to unwire years of cis normative learning pronouns may slip as long as the hearts in the right place.

Fade Away

There were many pieces of public arts which encouraged by the council sprung up from the 70s and 80s obey the years they've been painted over or removed. The very few out of the many beautiful murials adoring the side of buildings are the Arkells murial on Country Road and Ken White's Whalebridge painting which I mentioned many years ago on Fleming Way and this one which has just been neglected and allowed to slowly fade away.

Transgender day of remembrance 2023

To remember a lot of things Brianna Ghey, Alice Litman and many more and their loved ones mourning. To support those fighting harsh legislation on all continents and the failure to ban conversion therapy on these islands leaving many at risk of further torture. 

Like other marginalised groups over time it is about ensuring you're never alone.

Backpacks

One of those things you notice is that you can make a good stab at someone's generation by whether they dangle their backpack on one or both shoulders, group of secondary school children wearing it on both shoulders, two middle aged people within a minute of each other both dangling on just one. 

Locarno

Some pictures of the Locarno/ Corn Exchange another one of those lovely ruined buildings in Swindon you are sure everyone in authority is waiting for it to finally fall down so they can put a car park and some half empty shop/ office units in its place.

Self Awareness

If there was a list of people who have done things which means they should be wise enough to keep their mouth closed and never say anything ever again Lance Armstrong would certainly at the top but there we are as recently he took to the social medias announcing that he was launching a series which will "dive into' issues around transgender athletes competing in sport" because he is an expert at fairness. Given another person on the list George Osbourne was doing the media rounds recently, it seems there is a big overlap on a Venn diagram between those on the list and those who have any self awareness.

Trans Day of Visibility

After a period of invisibly,  no particular reason, pure laziness.... Its trans day of visibility, your favorite passing fad of the kids who will move on to Deely Boppers once TikToc is banned or something like that. 

We're here everyday and certainly not going away.
